What curses us, blesses us.     ~Rumi

Life can be lived awake or asleep.  Consciously or unconsciously.  Even a good life benefits from the opportunity to examine the edges of where we are–at any moment.

People often think that therapy is for the broken or the dysfunctional.  It is not.  Although when we are feeling broken or dysfunctional, therapy is certainly helpful.  The process  of therapy sorts through experiences and feelings and offers us a new path to take or a new way to consider.  This can happen whether we are experiencing high stress or experiencing low-level unrest.  Thus, no matter our current state, one of the clear benefits of therapy can be to make our wonderful lives even more wonderful.

Change occurs best when we feel supported, gently encouraged, sometimes pushed.  We discover choices we may have never seen.  Getting our life to match our core beliefs, having the external align with the internal, and realizing our dreams  is a tremendously satisfying experience.  It is a gratification no other process offers.  Nothing compares.  No one else can get there but you.  And one of the best resources in that endeavor is a good therapy with a good therapist.

Good therapy is based on a foundation of trust and comfort.  It is a relationship in which one can examine anything and everything.   I believe therapy, at times, is not unlike brain surgery.  Changing is a multi-dimensional occurrence, and most certainly involves, among other things, our brains and patterning.  Within the context of a safe and curious relationship with a knowledgeable, accepting therapist–we examine current stresses,  disappointments, conflicts and ultimately clear our perceptions, uncovering old patterns and habits.  Lifting these judgments we carry about ourselves allows so much more information to flow in to our consciousness.  Possibilities expand.

Drawn to understanding how and why and why not from early in my life…I am blessed to have had the teachers and guides, the study and experience to offer this to others.  I am honored to  share in making changes in our lives that are profound and significant for us and for our future.  The work we do, the wisdom we attain is work future generations will not have to do.  We improve the quality of our legacy.  The benefits have a ripple effect.
